Hubungan Kompetensi Penyuluh Perikanan Dalam Mengembangkan Fungsi Kelompok Nelayan Di Kecamatan Bungus Teluk Kabung Provinsi Sumatera Barat

Joint business groups of fishermen in Bungus Teluk Kabung District, West Sumatra Province consist of 22 groups. This, based on secondary data in 2023 received from Bungus Teluk Kabung District, namely each group has a different number of members and has an extension worker, some of the groups receive government assistance and some do not receive assistance from the government on the grounds that the group that received assistance from the extension worker is more active in directing and also guiding the group compared to the group that did not receive assistance. The method used in this study is a survey method with a quantitative approach and the determination of respondents was carried out by purposive sampling with a total of 85 respondents from the fishermen's group. The results of the study obtained were 1.) competent fisheries extension workers in developing the function of fishermen's groups as evidenced by the activities carried out such as providing education and instruction, solving problems, integrating technology, developing and evaluating programs, building relationships, acting with accountability and seeing the situation. 2.) the function of the fishermen's group is very competent as evidenced by the study classes, production units, business units and cooperation facilities provided by the extension workers. 3.) The relationship between the competence of fisheries extension workers and the function of fishermen groups generally tends to be positive but has a moderate relationship strength. This is evidenced by the form of strength in the indicator. Extension worker competence is usually associated with the development of group functions and also the strength of the relationship which can vary depending on various factors, meaning some are strong, moderate or weak. Depending on the specific context and other influencing factors.
