Perilaku mengkonsumsi minuman Keras Pada Remaja Di Kota Pekanbaru

The behavior of alcohol consumption among teenagers has become a significant social issue in Pekanbaru City. This study aims to identify: 1) The life profiles of teenagers who consume alcohol, and 2) The reasons behind alcohol consumption among teenagers in Pekanbaru City. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. A snowball sampling technique was applied to select research subjects aged 18-22 years. The results show that alcohol consumption among teenagers is influenced by several reasons, including peer pressure, the search for self-identity, and as an escape from stress and personal problems. Moreover, the normalization of this behavior within certain social environments further reinforces the habit. This research is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of deviant behavior among teenagers and serve as a basis for effective social intervention efforts.
