Model Dpsir (Driver-Pressure-State-Impactresponse) Berbasis Jasa Ekosistem Di Kawasan Mangrove Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak

SITI FATONAH / 1810346991 - Nama Orang;

Mangrove forest in Sungai Apit Subdistrict is the largest forest in Siak
District, Riau Province, but since 2000 there has been a decrease in mangrove area.
Mangrove rehabilitation efforts have been carried out since 2002. To reduce the
level of damage to mangroves, it is necessary to protect and manage mangroves. In
order to optimize efforts to protect and manage mangroves, it is necessary to
identify potentials and problems related to the mangrove ecosystem. Some
important things that need to be identified include various factors that cause
mangrove damage, the current condition of mangrove biophysics and mangrove
ecosystem services. Various problems and potentials that exist in the mangrove
ecosystem are important to identify in order to determine management options that
can be arranged in the DPSIR (Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response) model.
This study aimed to 1) analyze the factors that cause changes in mangrove cover;
2) analyze the biophysical condition of the mangrove ecosystem; 3) analyze the
socio-economic conditions of the community in the mangrove ecosystem area, 4)
analyze the management characteristics of the mangrove ecosystem 5) analyze the
value of mangrove ecosystem services 6) develop a DPSIR model in the mangrove
area of Sungai Apit Sub District, Siak District.
This research was conducted in the mangrove area of Sungai Apit District,
Siak Regency, in three villages, namely Rawa Mekar Jaya, Sungai Rawa, and
Mengkapan. Data collection was carried out from December 2020 to February
2021. Biophysical conditions were observed directly in three villages in three forest
conditions: natural, rehabilitation, and degraded forest. Determination of the factors
that cause mangrove damage (Driver and Pressure) based on the percentage of
people's opinions agree. Socio-economic and management values are determined
based on the results of a survey of communities using mangroves. The value of
mangrove ecosystem services was determined through the economic valuation of
provision, regulation, biodiversity, and tourism services. Physical and chemical
variables measured included environmental conditions of mangrove forests
(microclimate) and characteristics of mangrove sediments. The microclimates
measured were canopy cover, light intensity, air temperature, air humidity, wind
speed, and soil temperature. Sediment characteristics observed were soil pH,
organic C, total N, C/N ratio, P2O5, and soil texture. The biological variables
observed were indicators of the composition of mangrove vegetation (species
composition and species dominance) and structural (stand structure) and functional
indicators (biomass, carbon stock, and carbon sequestration), as well as the level of
damage to mangroves. Socio-economic variables include the income obtained from
each mangrove resource, the income per capita of the community using mangroves
xxiii
and the level of dependence on mangroves. The management characteristics
observed were the community's perception of the function and management of
mangroves, the attitudes and behavior of the community towards the management
and protection of mangroves, as well as the characteristics of community-based
mangrove management that had been carried out, and mangrove management
related to mangrove ecotourism.
The results showed that the current important Driver include economic
interests, the need for raw materials for charcoal, the need for land for settlement
and agriculture, as well as natural factors. The important Pressure is the activity of
taking wood for charcoal and other raw materials, the conversion of mangrove land
for settlement and agriculture. Important biophysical indicators in monitoring the
condition of mangrove land are tree density, basal area, tree biomass, carbon stock,
tree carbon uptake, canopy cover, light intensity, and wind speed. Mangrove forest
in Sungai Apit District based on mangrove area at various densities and stand
structure shows that the condition is still good. Mangroves are the main source of
income for people who use mangroves. Mangrove products which are the highest
source of livelihood are fish and honey, followed by shrimp, lokan (mangrove clam,
Polymesoda expansa Mousson, 1849), siput bakau (mangrove snail, Nerita lineata
Gmelin, 1791), bolongan (Mangrove conch, Telescopium telescopium Linnaeus,
1758), firewood, rama-rama (scorpion mud lobster, Thalassina anomala Herbst
1804) , and sepetang (Sharp razor clam, Pharella acutidens Broderip & Sowerby,
1828) . The average monthly income per capita of most of the people who use
mangroves is classified as medium and low. The level of community dependence
on mangroves is classified as moderate. Public awareness of the benefits of
mangroves is higher than the attitudes and behavior of the community to manage
and protect the mangrove ecosystem. The attribute values of physical products and
facilities as well as ecotourism activities show poor criteria. Mangrove forests in
Sungai Apit have high potential in regulatory functions through carbon
sequestration services and coastal protection services as well as habitat functions
through biodiversity services. Utilization of non-timber mangrove resources and
management of mangrove ecotourism has not been optimal. The DPSIR model
based on ecosystem services in the mangrove area of Sungai Apit Sub District, Siak
District shows conformity with the DPSIR conceptual framework and the concept
of linkages between biophysics, ecosystem services and community welfare. The
DPSIR model in the mangrove ecosystem area describes the problems and
potentials of each DPSIR component so that a response can be determined in the
form of management options. An important finding from this study is that the
mangrove forest in Sungai Apit shows good condition, with high regulatory
functions (carbon sequestration services and coastal protection), as well as high
support functions (biodiversity services), but the per capita income of the people
who use mangroves is moderate and low with the use of mangrove forests nontimber
mangrove resources as a source of community livelihood have not been
optimal. Some management options include the preparation and application of
Environmental Supporting and Accommodating Documents especially
environmental permit documents in the business world, Village Regulations that
support sustainable mangrove management, preparation of Environmental
xxiv
Management Plans on Environmental Permit Documents that ensure a balance
between mangrove growth and business production capacity , as well as monitoring
its implementation, improving the community's economy through the
empowerment of non-timber mangrove resources, optimizing community-based
mangrove management, monitoring environmental quality, procuring a tree bank
independently, implementing payments for environmental services in mangrove
management, optimizing mangrove ecotourism, and optimizing CSR (Corporate
Social Responsibility).
