Many gas stations have been established in various regions and many
people are also competing to establish them, this is because of the long-term
prospects that generate abundant profits. However, setting up gas stations
indiscriminately does not actually generate profits for us, it will actually cause
huge losses to the community. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention and
supervise the environmental conditions and the filling of the size of fuel oil
(BBM) around our place, whether it meets the standards that have been
determined. However, there are still many gaps for gas station operators to play
with the measure or measuring instrument for fuel oil at their refueling stations.
Therefore, special attention is needed for the Government, in this case the
Pekanbaru City Trade and Industry Office, to the environment where the fuel is
filled, whether it meets predetermined standards or not.
The purpose of the study was to determine the implementation of the
duties of the Pekanbaru City Trade and Industry Office in the Standardization of
Measuring Instruments for Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) in 2019-2020.
This research was conducted in Pekanbaru City within the Pekanbaru City Trade
and Industry Office.
The results of the study show that the government's task in this case is the
Legal Metrology Section which has been regulated in the Act, which is not yet
optimal due to some indicators that are not appropriate, still experiencing some
constraints on funds and personnel and coordination, limited funds in conducting
supervision and evaluation of the use of measuring, measuring, weighing and
equipment tools (UTTP) regarding Legal Metrology and the constraints of
Manpower/Human Resources where in conducting supervision, distribution and
evaluation of the use of measuring, measuring, weighing and equipment tools
(UTTP) requires reliable and competent human resources in order to be able to
carry out their duties and coordination is hampered in aligning schedules and time
to be able to follow up on reports together, and coordination between fields,
obstacles like this require time and communication.
