Identifikasi Dan Kelimpahan Mikroplastik Di Sungai Sail, Kota Pekanbaru, Provinsi Riau
Abstract
Microplastic is plastic waste which is degraded and decomposed into small plastic
particle ≤ 5 mm. The presence of microplastics in waters has a negative impact
on the environment and aquatic organisms. This study aims to determine
microplastics in the waters of the Sail River from July to September 2021.
Sampling was carried out 3 times, once/month, at 5 stations. In each stations, 100
L of water was taken and filtered using a plankton net (60 mesh size). To obtain
microplastics, the filtered water was filtered again using Whatman Grade 42 filter
paper and identified the type of microplastic using a binocular microscope. The
results showed that the types of microplastics found in the Sail River were fiber,
film, fragments and pellets. The most dominant type of microplastic is the film
type and the fewest type is the pellet type. he abundance of microplastics in the
Sail River is getting higher and higher, ranging from 180 - 450 particles/m3. The
highest abundance was at station 5 and the lowest abundance was at station 1.
