Pengelolaan Kesan Juru Parkir Wanita Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
Based on the Pekanbaru City Transportation Service, the number of parking attendants has increased from year to year from 540 people in 2016 to 1470 people in 2021. Of these 1470 people, 6% are women. Until now, in several corners of the city of Pekanbaru, there are many women who work as parking attendants. This study aims to determine how to manage the impression of the front stage and back stage of female parking attendants in Pekabaru.
This research uses qualitative research with dramaturgy approach. The subjects of this study consisted of five female parking attendants who had been selected using a purposive technique. This study uses data collection techniques in this study using interviews, observation, and documentation. To achieve the validity of the data in this study, the researchers used extended participation and triangulation.
The results of this study indicate that, when on the front stage, female parking attendants have verbal communication to customers in the form of greetings or communication, non-verbal which can be seen from the signs and attributes used. Doing work, female parking attendants have their own impressions that can be in the form of negative impressions and positive impressions that are always remembered by them. when on the back stage, the real life of female parking attendants at home and at work is very different, where at work they play a role as parking attendants that are no different from male parking attendants. Who looks strong and tough when managing the vehicle, but when at home the female parking attendant has a strong maternal instinct, this can be seen from her ability to balance work and being a housewife who is responsible for her children and is able to play a dual role in balance between work and home life.
