“Analisa Pengaruh Penambahan Hydrogen Peroxide (H2o2) Pada Tower Eop Terhadap Nilai Viscosity Tahap Eop Proses Bleaching Fiberline#1 Pt. Rapp”
ABSTRACT
The bleaching process is a step to brighten the pulp. In the bleaching process, bleaching chemicals such as ClO2 NaOH, O2, and H2O2 are used. The bleaching system used by PT. RAPP is an Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) system, namely the use of chlorine dioxide (ClO2). In Fiberline 1, the bleaching stage consists of 3 stages, namely D0, EOP, and D1. In the EOP stage, the added chemicals are NaOH, O2, and H2O2. The use of NaOH is used to provide an alkaline atmosphere and dissolve the lignin which has been separated in the D0 step. The use of O2 is used for the oxidation process. Hydrogen peroxide is added as a pulp whitening agent. This research was conducted by observing the viscosity value and brightness value after the addition of H2O2 treatment which was varied with a dose of 0.25 kg/Adt; 0.5 kg/Add; 0.75 kg/Add; 1 kg/Add; 1.25 kg/Add; and 1.5 kg/adt. Viscosity is one of the parameters used to measure the length of the cellulose chain which is measured by dissolving the pulp into the CED solution. The target viscosity at this stage is 460 ± 20 dm3/kg. Brightness is a measure of the brightness level of the pulp expressed in percent (%) ISO. Target brightness at this stage is 80-85% ISO. The results of this study indicate that the addition of H2O2 in the EOP tower to the viscosity value has a very strong correlation with R2 0.9941, this indicates that the relationship between the two is inversely proportional, so that the more H2O2 is added, the viscosity value will decrease. The addition of H2O2 has a correlation that is directly proportional to the brightness value with an R2 value of 0.9899, this indicates that the more H2O2 added, the higher the brightness value, and vice versa. The addition of more H2O2 doses will produce more residuals which have a correlation that is directly proportional to the R2 value of 0.9565.
