Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Tepung Daun Bintaro (Cerbera Manghas L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Larva Kumbang Tanduk (Oryctes Rhinoceros L.) Pada Tanaman Kelapa Sawit
ABSTRACT
The Rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros L.) is the main pest on oil palm
plantations (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.). An environmentally friendly control of
O. rhinoceros is by using botanical pesticides extracted from bintaro leaf flour
(Cerbera manghas L.). The research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory,
Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. The study was conducted from February
to April 2021.This research was conducted experimentally using a completely
randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments. Each treatment was repeated
4 times to obtain 20 experimental units. The treatment given was the
concentration of bintaro leaf powder extract as follows: 0 g.l-1 water, 25 g.l-1
water, 50 g.l-1 water, 75 g.l-1 water, 100 g.l-1 water. Observation from this research
consist of initial time of death, lethal time 50, lethal concentrate 50 and 95, daily
mortality, total mortality, temperature, and humidity. Daily mortality data
obtained from the results of the study was displayed in graphic form and analyzed
descriptively. The data on the beginning of mortality, total mortality, and lethal
time (LT50) were statistically analyzed using the Honestly Significant Difference
(HSD) at the 5% level, and the data on the beginning of mortality, total mortality,
and lethal time (LT50) were statistically analyzed using the Honestly Significant
Difference (HSD) at the 5% level. The results of the analysis showed that bintaro
leaf powder extract was not effective in controlling O. rhinoceros larvae because,
at a concentration of 100 g.l-1 water, it only causes total mortality of 62.5 %.
