ABSTRACT
The majority of Indonesian people live from farming, one of which is rice. Communication between farmers both within groups and individuals within a group or with people outside the group is one of the determining factors in advancing the agricultural sector in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of rice farmers' communication in groups and the effectiveness of interpersonal communication of rice farmers inside and outside the group in Bunga Raya Village, Bunga Raya District, Siak Regency. The data used are primary and secondary data. The analysis used is descriptive analysis and Likert scale. The results of this study indicate that farmer communication in groups in Bunga Raya Village is in the effective category with an average score of 3.69 seen from the agribusiness subsystem on cognitive, affective, and conative aspects. The effectiveness of interpersonal communication of farmers within the group is in the very effective category with an average score of 4.76, while the effectiveness of interpersonal communication of farmers outside the group is in the very effective category with an average score of 4.27 in terms of openness, empathy. supportive attitude, positive attitude and equality. Based on the conclusion related to interpersonal communication above, it can be seen that interpersonal communication of farmers within the group is still more effective than interpersonal communication of farmers outside the group.
