ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to determine the quality of water in Air Hitam River at the tide and low conditions. Sampling is carried out as many as three times with a time interval of once every month for three months. Sampling is carried out at high tide and low tide based on the application of world tide software to estimate the tide. Water quality measurements are temperature, salinity, current speed, pH, dissolved oxygen, width, and inward direction. Meanwhile, water quality measurements of TSS, BOD, COD, phosphates, nitrates and Pb metals are drilled. The results of water quality Black Water River is tidal and low tide conditions, namely temperatures ranging from 28.6 – 30.6 oC, TSS ranging from 21 - 41.6 mg / L, turbidity ranging from 3.05 - 6.81 NTU, pH is 5, Dissolved Oxygen 3.47 - 5.47 mg / L, BOD5 ranges from 9.3 - 13.3 mg / L, COD ranges from 20.48 – 28.42 mg / L, Nitrates range from 0.038 - 0.047 mg / L, Phosphates range from 0.038 - 0.069 mg / L, Ammonia ranges from 0.014 - 0.031 mg / L, Nitrites ranges from 0.033 - 0.039 mg / L, Pb metal is 0 mg / L, the depth and width of the river ranges between 3.08 - 7.75 m, water quality is 1.57-3.77 classified as lightly polluted.
