ABSTRACT
The problem of food security is something that is very important, especially when food security is vulnerable to problems in disaster situations, including one of them being disease outbreaks such as COVID-19. This study aims to (1) analyze the level of the role of agricultural extension workers as education, information dissemination/innovation, facilitation, supervision, consultation and monitoring and evaluation in supporting food security during the COVID-19 period in Kampar Regency, (2) analyzing household food security. farmers during the COVID-19 period from the aspect of food availability, aspects of food access, and aspects of food consumption in Kampar Regency, and (3) analyzing the influence of the role of agricultural extension workers on food security during the COVID-19 period in Kampar Regency. The method used is Likert Scale and Multiple Linear Regression analysis. The sample used in this study amounted to 98 people. The results show that the role of agricultural extension workers as education, information dissemination/innovation, facilitation, consultation, supervision, and monitoring and evaluation has played a role in supporting food security during the COVID-19 period in Kampar Regency. The food security of farmer households during the COVID-19 period in Kampar Regency was good, which was seen from the aspect of food availability, aspects of food access, and aspects of food consumption. The food security of farmer households during the COVID-19 period in Kampar Regency was significantly affected by the role of agricultural extension workers as education, consultation, and monitoring and evaluation.
