Seleksi Jamur Rizosfer Tanaman Aren (Arenga Pinnata Merr.) Dan Uji Antagonisme Terhadap Ganoderma Boninense Pat. Penyebab Penyakit Busuk Pangkal Batang Kelapa Sawit Serta Identifikasinya
ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to select and obtain isolates of rhizosphere fungi from sugar palm plants which have high antagonicity against G. boninense Pat., cause of stem basal rot disease of oil palm plant and to identify to the genus level. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Disease, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The research methods used in this study were exploration, observation and experimentation which consisted of isolation and purification of rhizosphere fungi from sugar palm plants using the exploration method, hypovirulence test of rhizosphere fungi isolates from sugar palm plants using the observation method, growth rate test of colonies of rhizosphere fungus isolates from sugar palm plants which have a high antagonistic activity, test of rhizosphere fungus antagonist from sugar palm plant against G. boninense using experimental method, hyperparasitism test of isolate with high antagonicity against G. boninense isolate using observation method, and characterization of rhizosphere fungal isolates from sugar palm plant which have high a antagonicity against G. boninense by using the observation method. The results of the research plants obtained 13 isolates, 11 isolates were hypovirulent and 2 isolates were virulent. Isolate R13 has the high antagonist power of 76.17% and has the high colony diameter and growth rate of 90.00 mm and 56.25 mm/day, respectively. There are different types of hyperparsitism of rhizosphere fungi, namely lysis (isolates R1 and R13), entanglement (isolates R3 and R9) and attachment (isolate R7). Identification of rhizosphere fungi with high antagonistic power showed that isolates R1 and R13 belonged to the genus Trichoderma, isolates R7 belonged to the genus Aspergillus, and isolates R3 and R9 had not been identified.
