Peningkatan Produksi Kacang Tanah (Arachis Hypogaea L.) Yang Ditanam Pada Jarak Tanam Berbeda Dengan Diberi
ABSTRACT Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a secondary food commodity which has high nutritional value and economic value. The need for peanuts in Riau Province every year always increases, while the productivity of peanuts has decreased so that it cannot meet the needs. The cause of peanut productivity lower was effect of not optimal cultivation techniques such as inappropriate plant population settings and soil less organic matter. Several efforts can be made to overcome these obstacles, such as setting the appropriate spacing for whose plant growth type is upright and the branches grow straight up and the application of manure to help the absorption of nutrients by plants. This study aims to increasing the production of peanut elephant varieties as effect setting of spacing and application of manures on. This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University for four months, starting from September to December 2019. The study was conducted in split plot design, witch the spacing as the main plot consisted of three levels, namely j0 (40 cm x 10 cm), j1 (40 cm x 20 cm), and j2 (40 cm x 30 cm). Manure as a sub-plot consists of three levels, namely p1 (without fertilizer), p2 (chicken manure), and p3 (cow manure). The observed variable were plant height, number of primary branches, age of flowering, weight of seeds per plot, number of pods, percentage of pithy pods, dry weight of plant seeds, weight of 100 seeds. Data from the ANOVA that had a significant effect were further tested with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the production of peanuts planted at a spacing of 40 cm x 10 cm to 40 cm x 30 cm could not be increased even though the land was fertilized with chicken or cow manure, even though the number of primary branches increased or even though the planting spacing independently could increase primary branches and increase the number of pods or even though the manure given can increase plant height.
