ABSTRACT
Aphids are a serious pest of red chile (Capsicum annuum L), a horticultural plant. The approach is to use integrated pest control, which is based on the types and numbers of pests found the chili plant habitat. The purpose of this study is to identify the kind and population of aphids on chili plants in the Village of Simpang Kanan, Simpang Kanan District Rokan Hilir Regency. From March to May 2021, this study was conducted in the hamlet Simpang Kanan, Simpang Kanan District Rokan Hilir Regency and the plnts pest Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture Riau University. The absolute approach, meaning the full-blooded method, was used to gather winged aphids. Aphids were collected over a period of seven weeks. A description of the location, kinds of aphids, population of winged aphids, population of wingless aphids, temperature, and humidity were all recorded. The results revealed that the aphid species attacking red chili plants was A. gossypii. The wingless A. gossypii population varied from 15,8 to 22,2 birds per week, whereas the winged A. gossypii population ranged from 12,6 to 29,6 birds per week.
