ABSTRACT
Corn (Zea mays L.) is the main food source besides rice. The main pest that often attacks maize is Helicoverpa armigera. The attack of Helicoverpa armigera pest cause a decrease in maize production by up to 80%. Helicoverpa armigera pest can controlling with botanical insecticides, example papaya leaf (Carica papaya L.). The purpose of this research was to obtain an effective concentration of papaya leaf flour extract against Helicoverpa armigera pest. The research was carried out at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from July to September 2021. This research make use of completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments with four replications to obtain 20 experimental units. The treatment is concentration of papaya leaf flour extract are 0 g.l-1 water, 25 g.l-1 water, 50 g.l-1 water, 75 g.l-1 water, and 100 g.l-1 water. The results showed that the concentration of papaya leaf flour extract 75 g.l-1 water was an effective concentration against Helicoverpa armigera pest with an initial time of death of 6,25 hours after application, lethal time 50 at 26,25 hours after application, and total mortality of 82,5% within 5 days after application.
