Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Daun Pepaya (Carica Papaya L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Hama Penggerek Tongkol Jagung (Helicoverpa Amigera Hubner)
ABSTRACT
The main pest that often attacks corn crops is Helicoverpa armigera Hubner. Pest control can be done using botanical insecticide papaya plants (Carica papaya L.). The aim of this research was to get a effective concentration of papaya leaf extract against of Helicoverpa armigera Hubner. The research was carried out experimentally in the Laboratory of Plant Pests, Agricultural Faculty, University of Riau, using a completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and four replications. The treatments given are several levels of concentration of papaya leaf extract, 0 g.l-1 water, 20 g.l-1 water, 40 g.l-1 water, 60 g.l-1 water, 80 g.l-1 water and 100 g.l-1 water. The parameters observed were initial time of death (hours), lethal time 50 (hours), Lethal concentration (LC50;95) (%), daily mortality and total mortality (%). The results showed that papaya leaf extract with a concentration of 80 g.l-1 water was an effective concentration to control H. armigera pests which could cause a total mortality of 80% with an initial death of 59,25 hours, lethal time 50 (LT50) 120,25 hours, lethal concentration (LC50;95) 4,1% and 15,2%.
