Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt) Melalui Pemberian Formula Kompos Limbah Tanaman Jagung Dengan Bakteri Selulolitik
ABSTRACT
This study aims to increase the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) which was given a corn waste compost formula decomposed by cellulolytic bacteria. The study was carried out using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications in order to obtain 20 experimental plots. Each plot consisted of 32 plants and 5 plants as samples. The treatment was corn plant waste consisting of: P0= without giving corn crop waste compost formula, P1= 10 ton.ha-1, P2= 20 ton.ha-1, P3= 30 ton.ha-1, P4= 40 ton.ha-1. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, time appears the male flowers, time appears the female flowers, age of harvest, weight per cob with corn husk, weight per cob without corn husk, length of cob, and number of rows of seeds per cob. Data analyzed by analysis of variance and continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level to compare the mean of each treatment. The results showed that the application of compost formula for corn plant waste 40 t.ha-1 with cellulolytic bacteria decomposers was able to increase growth and production of sweet corn plants except for the number of leaves parameter.
Keywords: Cellulolytic bacteria, corn waste compost, sweet corn.
