Pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair Bonggol Pisang Dan Pupuk K Pada Tanaman Jahe Merah (Zingiber Officinale Var. Rubrum)
ABSTRACT
Red ginger is a multifunction herbal plant. The many functions of red ging
er that can be utilized have led to an increase in demand for red ginger. Production
of red ginger in Riau Province in the last four years has decreased so that the dem
and for red ginger has not been fulfilled. Efforts that can be made to increase red g
inger production are by providing nutrients through fertilizing liquid organic fertil
izer (LOF) banana weevil and K fertilizer. This study aims to determine the intera
ction between LOF and K fertilize and determine the best dose of banana weevil
LOF and K fertilizer for supporting the growth and yield of red ginger. This resear
ch was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau
University, from November 2020 to April 2021. This research was conducted exp
erimentally using a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of t
wo factors. The first factor is LOF which consists of 4 levels namely doses of 0,
200, 400 and 600 ml. The second factor is the application of K fertilizer which co
nsists of 4 levels, namely doses of 0, 0.15, 0.30 and 0.45 g. The data obtained wer
e analyzed statistically using variance and followed by Duncan's multiple distance
test at 5% level. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, length
of leaves, the width of leaves, age of shoots, number of tillers, wet weight and dry
weight of rhizome. The results showed that the interaction between banana weevil
LOF treatment and K fertilizer is no significant effect on all observations studied.
Banana weevil LOF factor significantly affected the number of tillers, rhizome we
t weight and rhizome dry weight, while K fertilizer is significant effect on plant he
ight, leaf number, leaf length, rhizome wet weight and rhizome dry weight. Banan
a weevil LOF dose of 600 ml with K fertilizer dose of 0.45 g per 10 kg of media r
esulted in a rhizome dry weight is 79.33 gave an increase in dry weight of 66% co
mpared to without LOF and without K fertilizer which was 47.81 g and was the be
st treatment in increasing the growth and yield of red ginger plants.
