Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Daun Pepaya (Carica Papaya L.) Untuk Mengendalikan Hama Kutu Kebul (Bemisia Tabaci Genn.) Pada Tanaman Tomat (Solanum Lycopersicum L.)
ABSTRACT
Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci Genn.) is a highly polyphagous pest that attacks various types of plants, including ornamental plants, vegetables, and fruits. The way to reduce the impact of whitefly pests is to use vegetable pesticides, one of which is papaya leaves. This study aimed to obtain an effective concentration of papaya leaf extract in controlling whitefly pests (Bemisia tabaci Genn.) on tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.). This research was carried out in the experimental garden and in the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Pekanbaru. The study was carried out from June to August 2021. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments, each treatment was repeated 4 times in order to obtain 24 experimental units. Each treatment unit used 5 male whitefly imago and 5 female whitefly imago 2 days old. The treatments used were several concentrations of papaya leaf extract, namely 0 g.l-1 water, 20 g.l-1 water, 40 g.l-1 water, 60 g.l-1 water, 80 g.l-1 water and 100 g.l-1 water. The results showed that the application of papaya leaf extract at a concentration of 80 gl-1 of water was an effective concentration in controlling the whitefly Bemisia tabaci with a total mortality of 80.50% with an initial time of death of 2.50 hours after application and a lethal time of 50 of 10, 00 hours after application.
