Pengaruh Kompos Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit Dan Pupuk Npk Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Jagung Manis (Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt.)
ABSTRACT
Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) is one of the most widely cultivated horticultural commodities. Sweet corn is liked by the public because it has a sweet and delicious taste and is beneficial for health. This study aims to determine the interaction effect of offering Palm Oil Empty Bunch Compost and NPK fertilizer, single factor and getting the right dose for good growth and production of maize. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, from August to December 2020. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely the provision of OPEFB compost consisting of three levels of 0, 5 and 10 tons.ha-1 as well as application of NPK fertilizer consisting of three levels, namely 0, 100 and 200 kg.ha-1. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using variance and continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. Parameters observed were plant height, male flower appearance, female flower appearance, canopy dry weight, harvest age, weight of cob cobs, production corn cobs per plot and weight of cobs without corns. The results showed that the interaction of giving EFB compost and NPK fertilizer did not significantly affect all observation parameters. The application of OPEFB compost significantly affected the height, age, weight of the cobs, production per plot and weight of cobs without husks, while the application of NPK fertilizer significantly affected plant height, canopy dry weight, age, harvest of cobs, production per plot and weight of cobs. without decoration. The yield of corn kernels per plot with 10 ton.ha-1 EFB compost and 200 kg.ha-1 NPK is 6.93 kg, if the effective land use per hectare is 85%, the food productivity is 13,09 ton.ha-1 and is the best treatment in increasing the growth and production of sweet corn plants
