Analisis Sektor Ekonomi Unggulan Dengan Pendekatan Sektor Pembentuk Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (Pdrb) Kota Padangsidimpuan Provinsi Sumatera Utara

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the leading economic sector in the city of Padangsidimpuan. This study uses secondary data in the form of time series of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) of Padangsidimpuan City and North Sumatra Province from 2003 - 2021 which is divided into four periods according to the leadership period of the mayor of Padangsidimpuan. The analytical tools used in this research are Klassen Typology analysis, Location Quotient (LQ) analysis and Shift Share analysis. The results of the Location Quotient (LQ) analysis in 2003 – 2007 are the Trade, Hotel and Restaurant Sector, Transportation and Communication Sector, Financial Sector, Rental and Company Services and the Services Sector, 2008 – 2012 are Trade, Hotel and Restaurant, Financial Sector , Company Rental and Services and Services Sector, 2013 – 2017 namely the Building Sector, Trade Sector, Hotels and Restaurants, Transportation and Communication Sector, Financial Sector, Rental and Corporate Services and Services Sector and in 2018 – 2021, namely Electricity, Gas and Water Supply Sector, Trade Sector, Hotel and Restaurant, Transportation and Communication Sector, Financial Sector, Rental and Enterprise Services and Services Sector. The results of the Shift Share analysis show that the sectors with good growth and competitiveness are the Financial Sector, Rental and Enterprise Services, the Building Sector, the Electricity, Gas and Water Supply Sector and the Trade, Hotel and Restaurant Sector. The results of the Klassen Typology analysis show that the sectors that are developed and growing rapidly are the Financial, Rental and Corporate Services Sector in 2003 – 2012, in 2013 – 2021, the advanced and growing sectors are the Electricity, Gas and Drinking Water Sector, the Trade, Hotel and Restaurant Sector and the Sector Transportation and communication. So, based on the results of the three analytical tools used and based on the results of the sectoral analysis, the conclusion is that the sectors that are the leading sectors in Padangsidimpuan City are tertiary sectors, meaning sectors engaged in services.
