COMMUNICATION STRATEGY OF SOCIAL MEDIA INSTAGRAM @PERUPADATA IN CONVEYING COVID-19 INFORMATION

The rapid development of the internet make public's need for information also higher. Indonesia alone has 101.6 million users with 170 million active social media users. This causes interaction in cyberspace to become a new habit for the audience, which makes Indonesia's market share one of the best. One of the most widely used social media is Instagram. Instagram, which is a mass communication platform, encourages its users to be more active and effective in managing social media. One of the accounts that use Instagram effectively is @perrupadata. @perupadata is an information-based social media account that shares information related to COVID-19. The purpose of this study is to determine the sharing process, the process of optimizing, managing, and involving the audience in the Instagram @perupadata social media account.
This study used qualitative research methods. Researchers used purposive sampling of informants. The informant of this research is Imam Safingi who is the founder and manager of the Instagram @perupadata social media account. Data collection techniques consist of interviews, observation and documentation. While the data analysis technique used descriptive analysis according to Miles and Huberman. For the technique of checking the validity of the data using trialungation.
The results of this study indicate that the process of sharing @perupadata begins by ensuring that all data and information that will be shared are sourced from trusted agencies. In the optimization process, @perupadata tries to present a visual design that is neat and easy to understand by the public. To optimize its message, @perupupata also takes the point of view of the general public so that the message presented is easily digested and accepted by the public. At the management stage, to ensure the continuity of information and the consistency of the audience, @perupadata to provide information on a regular basis. COVID-19 information content is shared daily while some important information is presented weekly as planned in the editorial board. Lastly, to increase interaction with the audience. Therefore, in the caption, @perupadata inserts a question that will spark audience discussion in the @perupadata comment column.
