ABSTRACT
The aims of this study were (1) to identify the potential and challenges faced by agricultural extension workers in Kuantan Singingi Regency. (2) Identify the potential and challenges faced by farmers in Kuantan Singingi Regency. (3) Analyze the level of food security of farmers in Kuantan Singingi Regency. The research method used was a survey method, extension samples were taken using the census method with a total of 29 extension workers, while farmers were taken using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 50 respondents. Data analysis used descriptive analysis to identify the potential and challenges of agricultural extension workers as well as the potential and challenges of farmers. Quantitative analysis is used to analyze the level of food security of farmers. The results of the research show that extension workers and farmers have a lot of potential, but there are still some challenges. The level of food security of farmers is categorized as high by having food availability, access to food and high quality food security in meeting household needs.
