ABSTRACT
The aims of this study are (1) to identify the level of social capital owned by the lowland rice farmer group in Jatibaru Village. (2) Identifying the level of empowerment owned by the lowland rice farmer group in Jatibaru Village. (3) Knowing the relationship of social capital to the empowerment of paddy rice farmer groups in Jatibaru Village. The analysis used to see the level of social capital and empowerment used quantitative descriptive analysis based on the Likert scale, while the analysis to see the relationship used Spearman rank correlation. Based on the results of the research on the level of social capital and empowerment, the average value of social capital is 3.91, which means that social capital is in the high category and the average value of empowerment is 4.08, which means that empowerment is in the high category. While the relationship of social capital to farmer empowerment in farmer groups obtained a value of (0.000 < 0.05), it can be concluded that social capital has a relationship to farmer empowerment in lowland rice farmer groups. The correlation coefficient value is 0.656 where this value is included in the category of a strong relationship.
