ABSTRACT
The increase in oil palm growth is marked by the increasing area of oil palm land and the high production of Crude Palm Oil (CPO). The increase in CPO production is feared to ignore the principles of sustainable agriculture. Indonesian government has committed to developing sustainable agriculture through ISPO (Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil). Through this research, researchers wish to analyze compliance with Indonesian sustainable palm oil (ISPO) standards by independent oil palm smallholders in Siak District. The methodology uses a survey method by conducting direct interviews with respondents. Primary data was obtained through direct interviews with planters. The number of research subjects was determined through the convenience sampling method. Through this technique, 40 independent oil palm smallholders were obtained as research subjects. The data analyzed using the gap analysis method. The final results of this study concluded that none of the independent oil palm smallholders in Siak District have been able to meet ISPO standards.
