ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to analyze the market structure, conduct and peformance of the market in Tembilahan Hulu District. This research was conducted by survey. Determination of the sample was carried out by purposive sampling with the criteria of having a land area of 1-3 ha with a coconut plant age of 8-10 years, because farmers with an area of 1-3 are classified as large farmers with a total of 36 samples. The sample of marketing agencies involved in marketing coconuts to the final traders is determined by the census method. As a result, the coconut marketing channel in the Tembilahan Hulu sub-district is divided into two channels. Farmers sell coconuts through collectors. the market structure at the collector trader level is oligopsony of high concentration with a concentration ratio value above 80%, namely 80.78% and the market structure at the collector trader level is oligopsony of moderate concentration with a concentration ratio value below 80%, namely 54.54% and the Herfindahl index < 1. Market conduct has a strong correlation or relationship and market integration is not perfect, while the price transmission elasticity value is 0.8321 which indicates a price change increases by 1% at the final trader level, it will result in a price change increasing by 83.21% at the farmer level . Market performance from marketing efficiency, the value obtained is lower (3.76%) so that the conditions in channel I are relatively better than channel II.
