Pengaruh Ukuran Setek Dan Konsentrasi Zat Pengatur Tumbuh Terhadap Pertumbuhan Vegetatif Tanaman Mawar (Rosa Hybrida L.)
ABSTRACT
Roses are known as ornamental plants that can be used for various purposes. Rose production in Riau has increased, so the availability of this plant needs to be increased in cultivation, one of which is by vegetative propagation by cutting. The purpose of this study was to know the interaction effect of cutting size and concentration of Rootone-F growth regulator, size of cutting, concentration of Rootone-F and to determine the best combination between cutting size and concentration of Rootone-F on the growth of rose cuttings. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden and Plant Ecophysiology Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from February to May 2022. The research was conducted experimentally using a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two factors and repeated three times so that obtained 45 experimental units. The first factor was the size of the cuttings, namely 10, 15 and 20 cm. The second factor was concentrations of Rootone-F namely 0, 100, 200, 300 and 400 ppm. The results showed that the interaction between cuttings size and Rootone-F concentration increased shoots’ length. The size of the cuttings can increase the percentage of growing cuttings, speed up the emergence time of shoots and increase the length of the shoots. Rootone-F concentration can increase shoots’ length, number of leaves and roots’ volume. The best growth of rose cuttings was obtained from a combination of 20 cm cutting size and 300 ppm Rootone-F concentration.
