Analisis Pola Dan Perilaku Konsumsi Bumbu-Bumbuan Oleh Rumah Tangga Di Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
This research aims to examine the pattern, dominant factors, and response to spending on spices consumption in Riau Province. This study uses data from the 2020 Socio-Economic Survey by the Central Statistics Agency of Riau Province. To answer this research, this research was analyzed with an econometric approach using the Almost Ideal Demand System (AIDS) model and the Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) . The results showed that the higher the income, higher the consumption of candlenut, pepper, soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato sauce and seasonings. Consumption of salt, coriander, tamarind, shrimp paste, flavorings, and other seasonings experienced consumption fluctuations but in general experienced an increase in line with increased income. The more household members consume spices the lower per capita consumption. The higher the education of a housewife, the consumption of aram, flavorings, coriander, candlenut, tamarind, shrimp paste, and other spices reduces her consumption. Consumption of salt, candlenut, coriander, pepper, tamarind, shrimp paste, soy sauce, seasonings and other seasonings in urban areas is lower than consumption in rural areas. The dominant factors that influence the consumption of spices are the price of the commodity itself and the various prices of other commodities. The results of the spice commodity are not responsive to changes in the price of the commodity itself and other commodities. Meanwhile, the income elasticity of the commodities of salt, coriander, pepper, tamarind, soy sauce, chili sauce and tomato sauce is responsive to changes in income. The implications of alternative policies that can be done is the government can provide socialization regarding safe and healthy food consumption.
