Analisis Sekuens Barkode Dna Trnl-Trnf Intergenic Spacer Pada Tumbuhan Lopang (Gymnopetalum COCHINCHINENSE L.)

ABSTRACT
Annual herbaceous plants known as “lopang plants” have been cultivated in the province of Riau. There are numerous regional names for this plant, including lopang, lapang, kanjat, kisik utan and Gymnopetalum cochinchinense L. is the scientific name for this plant. These regional names may be unclear and give rise to disagreements when choosing a name for this plant species. As a result, it is crucial to know a species scientific name. This study aims to analyze sequence of trnL-trnL-trnF intergenic spacer in lopang plants. DNA isolation, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), electrophoresis, sequencing, and data analysis with the BioEdit, BLASTn, and MEGA 6 tools made up the research methodology. Research results showed that lopang was 410 bp long and was a trnL-trnF IGS region. Trichosanthes dunniana has the most similarity (97.56%) to individual lopang plants, according to the results of the BLASTn. Lopang plants form a group with most species of the genus Trichosanthes. Gymnopetalum cochinchinense L. has a synonymous name T. costata. The trnL-trnF IGS DNA sequences obtained in this study are the first to be reported and can be used as a reference for identification lopang plants.
