Analisis Determinan Partisipasi Tenaga Kerja Wanita Menikah Dalam Sektor Informal Di Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
Labor is a potential factor for economic development. The inability of the formal sector to absorb labor makes the informal sector a savior. The common problem faced by most women in relation to employment is the difficulty of getting a job with a decent income level because the quality of human resources is still low. Married female workers in Pekanbaru City work a lot in the trading sector, namely as traders based on the results of a survey that has been conducted, they work for various reasons, even though making a living is not their obligation, it is not uncommon for women's income to be the main support for the family economy. In addition to economic factors, there are different motivations for work between married women from low, middle, and high economic backgrounds.
This research was conducted on the community in Pekanbaru City, the sample in this study was 100 respondents whose population is married women workers who work in the informal sector in Pekanbaru City which are spread across 12 sub-districts. The test used is the multiple regression test, namely to see the effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable.
The result of the research is that the level of education of women has a partial effect on the participation of women workers in the informal sector in the city of Pekanbaru. The husband's income level has a partial effect on the participation of women in the informal sector in the city of Pekanbaru. The number of dependents has a partial effect on the participation of women workers in the informal sector in the city of Pekanbaru. Women's income level has a partial effect on female labor participation in the informal sector in the city of Pekanbaru. Education level, husband's income level, number of dependents, and women's income level simultaneously or jointly influence the participation of women workers in the informal sector in Pekanbaru city.
