Analisis Temperatur Weak Acid Solution Sebagai Indikator Pada Proses Produksi Larutan Hcl 32%
ABSTRACT
Weak acid solution is a liquid produced from the scrubbing process the remaining hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas from the HCl synthesis unit using demineralized water. Weak acid solution is an absorbent in the absorption process of HCl gas from combustion in the HCl synthesis unit to produce a 32% HCl solution. Weak acid solution temperature is an indicator in the 32% HCl solution production process which can indicate the concentration of HCl solution produced and process abnormalities if the temperature is out of normal range. The idea described in this final project report is "Analysis of Weak Acid Solution Temperature as Process Indicator in a 32% HCl Solution Production Process" which aims to determine the range of weak acid solution temperature based on the HCl synthesis unit gas inlet and ClO2 production rate in the generator. The data collection used in this study was carried out secondarily through PI (Plant Information) trends and laboratory logsheets and will be analyzed in the form of scatter chart. Based on the analysis results that has been made, the weak acid solution temperature range is obtained from 28 – 36°C for the HCl synthesis unit #3 inlet which only consists of H2 gas and strong Cl2 gas only, while the temperature of weak acid solution from HCl synthesis unit #1 inlet that consists of H2 gas, weak Cl2 gas, and strong Cl2 gas is ranging from 44 – 61°C. The range of weak acid solution temperature based on the production rate of ClO2 in the generator, which is around 44 – 48°C at production rate 50%, 47 – 51°C at production rate 60%, 51 – 54°C at production rate 70%, 53 – 56°C at production rate 80%, 55 – 58°C at production rate 90%, and around 56 – 61°C at production rate 100%.
