ABSTRACT
Optical Brightenic Agent (OBA) is a compound that can give a light effect to an
object that is exposed to light, so that the object will be whiter and luminous.
Utilization of OBA at PT RAPP is used as an auxiliary material in achieving
paper optical properties that comply with specified standards. OBA consists of
three types, namely disulpho (wet end), tetrasulpho, and hexasulpho. The aim of
the research was to determine the optimum point for using OBA wet end for the
optical properties of paper by varying the dosage of disulpho (wet end) OBA. The
optical properties of the paper studied consisted of brightness, whiteness, and
