Analisa Perbedaan Nilai Porosity (Air Permeability) Offset Paper Dan Copy Paper Di Paper Machine 3
ABSTRAK
Porosity is defined as the amount of air (ml/min) that can be passed through from one side of the paper to the other. Paper porosity also affects the drying process and porosity needs to be maintained to make it easier to adjust printer ink and make it easier to vacuum feed on printing and copying machines. In the paper industry, there are two types of paper, that are offset paper and copy paper. In this final project, an analysis was carried out to find the main factors that cause differences in the porosity values of offset paper and photocopy paper. This analysis was carried out by taking secondary data, namely porosity, freeness, ash content and filler ratio on grades OR040680 and MR060670. Based on the data obtained, the main factor affecting the porosity value is freeness with an R2 of 0.8112 at grade OR040680 and 0.8259 at Grade MR060670. Based on the results of the sequence analysis the main factors that most influence the porosity value are freeness > filler ratio > ash content.
