Prarancangan Pabrik Purified Terephthalate Acid (Pta) Proses Bp (Amoco) Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Oksidasi Paraxylene (R-101)
ABSTRACT
With the large consumption of terephthalic acid in Indonesia, it is necessary to develop a terephthalic acid industry to support the downstream industry which is made from terephthalic acid. The purpose of designing a Purified Terephthalate Acid (PTA) plant is to determine whether the plant is feasible or not to build. The PTA plant uses the BP (Amoco) process with paraxylene as raw material. The PTA plant is designed with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year and will be established in a strategic location, namely in a Tuban Industrial Area located in Tuban Regency, East Java. This plant is planned to start operating in 2027 and will be named PT. Indo Jaya PTA. From the calculation of the GPM data, it was found that the value of the GPM was IDR 1,279,962,934,935/year. The main tool design in this plant design is the Paraxylene Oxidation Reactor (R-101) which operates at an operating temperature of 200oC and a pressure of 15 atm with a height dimension of 3.6 m and a diameter of 2.7 m. The results of this Purified Terephthalate Acid plant economic analysis are: Total Capital Investment (TCI) of IDR 193,039,496,031 with a Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) value of IDR 162,848,511,116 and Working Capital Investment (WCI) of IDR 31,807,914,730; Total Production Cost (TPC) of IDR 2,987,520,732,030; Product sales of IDR 3,273,611,126,493; BEP (Break event Point) of 45.92%; Payback Period (PBP) for 3 years and 3 months, ROI (Rate of Investment) of 21.87%; IRR (Internal Rate of Return) of 22.75%. Based on the results of the economic analysis obtained, it can be concluded that the Purified Terephthalate Acid plant from the raw material Paraxylene is feasible to establish. Based on technical considerations which include a strategic plant location, availability of adequate and affordable raw materials, availability of adequate utilities and good transportation access, the Purified Terephthalate Acid plant is feasible to establish.
