ABSTRACT
Effluent Treatment Plant is one of the areas in PT. RAPP is responsible for processing liquid waste which will flow into the Kampar River and sludge which will be distributed to Power Boilers as fuel. The most common sludge treatment system and has been widely used is the Sludge handling Process. This process uses a Flocculation Tank to form flocs by adding polymer to the flocuation bath. The addition of this polymer was carried out to help form sludge from mixing tanks with a consistency of 2-3% to > 15-20%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the polymer flow rate on the consistency value of Rotary Screen Thickener #4 and Rotary Screen Thickener #6 at the Effluent Treatment Plant PT. Riau Mainstay Pulp and Paper. The conclusions obtained are polymer flow used in RST #6 is higher than RST #4, the relationship between polymer flow and sludge inlet dose is directly proportional, the relationship between polymer flow and outlet consistency is directly proportional.
