Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Tepung Daun Babadotan (Ageratum Conyzoides L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Grayak Jagung (Spodoptera Frugiperda J. E. Smith) Di Laboratorium
ABSTRACT
Corn (Zea mays L.) is one of the cereals that has economic value and has the opportunity to be developed because of its position as the main source of carbohydrates and protein. Pests that can affect maize production, one of which is Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith. The control offered uses the vegetable insecticide Babadotan (Ageratum conyzoides L.). The aim of this study was to obtain a concentration of babadotan leaf powder extract (Ageratum conyzoides L.) which was effective against the mortality of armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda. The research was carried out at the Plant Pest Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry and Natural Materials, Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau. The study was conducted from June to August 2021. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and four replications to produce 20 experimental units. The treatment given was the concentration of babadotan leaf powder extract as follows: 0%, 0,25%, 0,50%, 0,75% and 1%. Observation parameters consisted of initial time of death, lethal time 50, daily mortality, total mortality, temperature and humidity. Concentration of 1% is an effective concentration on larval mortality of Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith because this concentration can cause a total mortality of 90,50% with an initial time of death of 2,50 hours and LT50 at 44,75 hours after application.
Key words: Zea mays L, Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith, Botanical insectisida, Ageratum conyzoides L
