Pengaruh Chemical Content Dan Mechanical Cleaning Terhadap Efisiensi Stripper Melalui Analisa Scaling Pada Preheater Stripper
ABSTRACT
The stripper serves to process the resulting condensate and evaporation in the final effect on the evaporator with the aim of reducing the COD content in the condensate so that condensate with a lower COD value is obtained. In addition to reducing the COD content of condensate, by-products are also obtained from the stripper, namely SOG (Stripping Odorus Gas) which can then be reprocessed at the Methanol Plant so that it can produce methanol that can be reused as fuel in RKE (Recaustisizing lime kiln and recovery boiler). Before entering the stripper, the inlet condensate is preheated in the preheater using outlet condensate from the stripper. The stripper preheater uses the tube and shell principle, where the inlet condensate enters through the tube and the outlet condensate from the preheater as the heater enters through the shell so that heat exchange occurs in the tube and shell. This heat exchange can cause scaling in the tube and shell which affects abnormal flow flow and also heat retained on the crust wall which results in heat transfer not running optimally, so it is necessary to do cleaning both chemically and mechanically. In the chemical cleaning method, caustic is used which is considered less effective in eliminating scaling, because there is still chemical content that can cause scaling. Therefore, mechanical cleaning is carried out, namely by water jetting which is considered more effective through proving the formula ∆T LMTD and Q (heat).
