Vinil Acetate is the simplest ether compound in the form of a colorless gas. Vinil Acetate has similar properties to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) so it can be used as a new energy source. The main raw materials for the manufacture of Vinil Acetate are Ethylene, Acetic Acid and Oxygen. The process used in the dimevinil acetate plant is an acetic acid gas process because it produces high yield and selectivity. This plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work 24 hours/day with a production capacity of 18,000 tons/year. The vinil acetate plant is planned to be built in the city of Cilegon, Banten because it is located close to the main raw material source of ethylene, which comes from PT. Chandra Asri Petrocheical . Form this company is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. Employees working in this factory consist of shift employees and non-shift employees. The fixedbed reactor (R-101) functions as a place for the acetic acid gas reaction to form vinil acetat. The reactor (R-101) has a height of 17.141 ft and a diameter of 10.626 in and is operated at a temperature of 150 C and a pressure of 10 atm. Economic analysis shows that the dimethyl ether plant is feasible to establish. With a Break Even Point (BEP) value of 28%, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.75% and Pay Back Period (PBP) of 1 years.
