Prarancangan Pabrik Hdpe Proses Cx-Mitsui Dengan Desain Alat Utama Flash Drum (Fd-301)
ABSTRACT
High density polyethylene or high density polyethylene is one type of high-density polymer that is flexible, impact resistant, low temperature resistant, even freeze water resistant which is potential as a matrix candidate in making bone replacement composites. One process that can be used in synthesizing high density polyethylene is the CX-Mitsui process. CX-Mitsui processes there is a reaction process and separation process to obtain HDPE products. The design of a high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant from ethylene with the Cx-Misui process requires a separator device, namely a flash drum to separate gases (ethylene, acetylene, 1-butene, hydrogen, nitrogen, methane, and hexane) with solids (titanium tetra chloride, hexane and polyethylene) output from reactor 2 based on differences in boiling point components and volatility. Economic analysis of this HDPE plant is obtained as follows, Return on Investment (ROI) of 16.33%, payback period (PBP) for 4 years 1 month, IRR of 23.16%, break Event Point of 60%, shut down point (SDP) of 15.1%. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the pre-design of the High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plant from ethylene with the design of the main flash drum tool (FD-301) with a capacity of 125,000 tons / year is feasible to proceed to the planning stage.
