Efektivitas Ekstrak Tepung Daun Bintaro (Cerbera Manghas L.) Berpelarut Organik Terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Penggerek Tongkol Jagung Helicoverpa Armigera Hubner
ABSTRACT
Corn is one of the main food crops, apart from wheat and rice. One of the pests that can reduce productivity is the corncob borer Helicoverpa armigera Hubner. An alternative control is using vegetable insecticides which are selective for insects and relatively safe for the environment, namely from the Bintaro plant (Cerbera manghas L.). This study aims to obtain an effective treatment concentration to kill Helicoverpa armigera larvae in sweet corn. The study was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications, resulting in 20 experimental units. Each experimental unit was infested with 10 instar larvae 3. The treatments given were various concentrations of bintaro leaf powder extract, namely 0%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75% and 1%. Observations of this study consisted of time of initial death, lethal time 50, daily mortality, total mortality, temperature and humidity. The results of the analysis showed that the extract of bintaro leaf flour with a concentration of 0.50% was effective for controlling Helicoverpa armigera by 80% with an initial death time of 8.50 hours, and a lethal time of 50 at 19.00 hours after application.
