ABSTRACT
Sansevieria downsii is a biodiversity that has the potential as an ornamental plant and medicinal plant. S. downsii can be maintained indoors and outdoors. S. downsii also has potential in the industrial sector and is able to absorb chemical pollutants in the environment. These various benefits require plant multiplication S. downsii however, conventional propagation by leaf cuttings takes a long time and cannot meet the needs of large numbers of seedlings. In an effort to shorten the time, in-vitro culture research was carried out, namely the effect of the combination of NAA, BAP and the combination of NAA and BAP on the growth and development of leaf tissue explants S. downsii regularly in-Vitro. The first factor is NAA and the second factor is BAP. The results showed that the effect of NAA, BAP and the combination of NAA and BAP had a significant effect on parameters when callus appeared, callus weight, percentage of explants that produced callus, callus color, callus texture, when shoots appeared, number of shoots and percentage of callus produced shoots. In the NAA treatment 2 mg.l-1 + BAP 2 mg.l-1 better in producing when callus appeared which was 52.62 HST, callus weight 1.49 g, callus color was yellowish white and callus texture intermediate, when shoots appeared was 76.03 HST, shoot height was 2.84 cm, the number of shoots was 1.83 stems, and the percentage of explants that produced callus was 91.67% and the percentage of callus produced shoots was 91.67%.
