Komunikasi Politik Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) Pada Pemenangan Pemilu Legislatif DPRD Kota Pekanbaru Tahun 2019
The political communication of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in
2019 can be considered successful as it was able to secure 8 seats in the
legislative body. This is different from the previous periods, namely 2009 and
2014, where PKS only obtained 5 seats in 2009 and experienced a drastic decline
in 2014 with only 3 seats. However, this did not make PKS complacent, as they
conducted structured political communication.
The research method used was qualitative research. This study employed
Political Communication Theory and Nimmo as the basic concept. Data
collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and document
analysis. The selection of informants was done purposively, with a total of 10
informants. Data management utilized the data analysis techniques of Miles and
Huberman. The validation of data or data validity was ensured through
triangulation of sources.
The research findings indicated that agenda setting theory and the
political communication strategy of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in
winning the legislative election in the Pekanbaru City Council in 2019 included
the following components: Planning, which involved understanding the audience,
developing messages, determining methods, selecting and utilizing media, and
identifying communication barriers. Implementation included building awareness,
interest, desire, action, and satisfaction. Lastly, evaluation covered optimizing
strategy planning, strengthening operational standards, ensuring the availability
of human resources, providing party funds, building commitment, equalizing
leadership distribution, improving coordination, enhancing infrastructure,
improving services, and enhancing leadership qualities. The second finding
focused on the political marketing of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in
winning the legislative election in the Pekanbaru City Council, which
encompassed the elements of Product, Promotion, Price, and Place. The third
finding presented the model of Political Communication of the Prosperous Justice
Party (PKS) in Pekanbaru, which included the components of Who, Says What, In
Which Channel, To Whom, and With What Effect.
