Tanggung Jawab Pelaku Usaha Terhadap Konsumen Dalam Promo Flash Sale Pada Marketplace Shopee
ABSTRACT
One of the Shopee marketplace strategies in increasing the number of visitors is a sales promotion strategy through social media by providing loyalty gifts, such as cashback and giveaways to consumers. The goal is for consumers to feel satisfied and interested in making purchases again. One of the events that the Shopee marketplace regularly participates in is Flash Sale. Flash sales are one of the most common sales promotion strategies carried out by retailers in the online and offline world. Simply put, a flash sale is a period where retailers offer products at very low prices within a limited time and number of items.
The rampant fraud committed by business actors in Shopee flashsale promos using flashsale opportunities has often occurred, this of course makes Shopee marketplace consumers feel disadvantaged and disappointed because the long-awaited Flash sale promo does not match the items advertised and promoted, impacting Shopee marketplace sellers with reduced consumer interest in taking part in the next Flash sale promo.
This type of research can be classified into the type of sociological juridical research. With the research location in the jurisdiction of Pekanbaru City. While the population and sample are parties related to the problem under study. This study used primary data sources and secondary data and data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews, and literature review
The results of the research conducted by the author are, First, based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, the actions of business actors regarding the number of products and prices listed in flashsale promos that are not in accordance with what is regulated in the consumer protection law, can said to be bad faith from business actors in running a business and not complying with the corridor of obligations of business actors regulated in point a of Article 10 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. Second, the absence of system improvements with available item data cases makes consumers feel distrustful and leads to losses for the business actors themselves. There needs to be a thorough improvement in the system and education about regulations and the consequences of violations to the community.
