Analisis Karakteristik Habitat Meranti Rambai (Shorea Acuminata) Di Hutan Larangan Adat Ghimbo Potai

ABSTRACK
The Ghimbo Potai Prohibition Forest is a customary forest located in Koto Tibun Village, Kampar District, Riau Province. Meranti Rambai is one of the flora diversity which is one of the constituents of the vegetation the Ghimbo Potai Forest. Meranti Rambai is a woody plant of the Dipterocarpaceae family which is spread over the territory of Indonesia, namely the island of Sumatera, Kalimantan and Maluku. This plant lives in the lowland with the high humidity. The habitat of Meranti Rambai distribution is reduced due to forest degradation. The purpoe of this study was to determine the biotic charahterictics of lower vegetation and abiotoc characteristics of the Meranti Rambai habitat in the Ghimbo Potai Forest. The Study was conducted in January 2022 and samples were taken from four points in the Ghimbo Potai Forest. The method used is purposive sampling. The result of the study found as 20 species of understory with a diversity index (H’) of 2,66 which were included in the moderate level of diversity. The habitat of Meranti Rambai is found with light intensity of 225.66 Lux with high temperature and humidity and acidic soil pH.
