Pendugaan Parameter Genetik 12 Genotipe Cabai (Capsicum Sp.) Pada Lahan Gambut Di Rimbo Panjang
ABSTRACT
Chilli is one of the important horticultural crops, because it can be used as an industrial raw material and adds a spicy and delicious taste to food.capsaicin. Peatlands have not been used optimally, especially for horticultural crops because peat has many problems. Efforts that can be made so that the land can be used for chili plants is by assembling several superior chili varieties that are tolerant of peatlands. The aim of the study was to obtain information on genetic diversity and heritability of quantitative characters of several chili tolerant genotypes on peatlands. The study used a randomized block design consisting of 12 treatments and 3 replications to obtain 36 experimental units, each experimental unit consisting of 20 plants and 10 plants were taken. as sample. Data analysis included analysis of variance components and calculation of broad meaning heritability values. The results showed that the characters that had criteria for the value of broad genetic diversity in chili plants were dichotomous height, stem diameter, fruit flesh thickness, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant. Characters that have narrow genetic diversity value criteria are flowering age, harvesting age, plant height, crown width, fruit stalk length, fruit length, fruit diameter and number of fruit per plant. In general, all characters have wide phenotypic diversity criteria. High heritability values in chili plants were found in dichotomous height, stem diameter, fruit stalk length, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit flesh thickness, weight per fruit, fruit weight per plant and number of fruit per plant. Flowering age, harvesting age and plant height were included in the medium heritability value group and the canopy width character was included in the low heritability value.
