Pengaruh Pemberian Kalsit Terhadap Peningkatan Ph Tanah Dan Perkembangan Penyakit Layu Fusarium Pada Tanaman Bawang Merah (Allium Cepa L.)
ABSTRACT
Shallot (Allium cepa L.) cultivation in Riau has several obstacles, one of which is the attack of Fusarium wilt disease. The high attack of Fusarium wilt disease is caused by low pH soil or planting media. Fusarium wilt disease in shallots is commonly found in acidic soil. One of the control efforts is to increase soil pH by applying calcite lime (CaCO3). This study were aimed to obtain an effective dose of calcite lime to increase soil pH and suppress the development of Fusarium wilt disease in shallot plants. This research was conducted at the Plant Disease Laboratory, Soil Science Laboratory, and Crop Production Laboratory Gauze House, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Bina Widya Campus, km 12.5, Simpang Baru Village, Tampan District, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted experimentally with a completely randomized design (CRD), five levels of treatment, and four replicates so that 20 experimental units were obtained. The treatment in this study was the dose of calcite lime (CaCO3) consisting of 5 levels, namely: P0: dose of 0 ton.ha-1, P1: dose of 2 ton.ha-1, P2: dose of 4 ton.ha-1, P3: dose of 6 ton.ha-1, P4: dose of 8 ton.ha-1. The parameters observed were disease incubation period, disease incidence, disease intensity, plant height, number of tubers, tuber diameter, tuber wet weight, and tuber dry weight. The data obtained were analyzed using variance analysis and continued with Duncan's test at the 5% level. The results showed that the application of calcite lime (CaCO3) was able to increase soil pH from 5.5 to 6.4; 6.8; 7.0; and 7.2 and could suppress the development of Fusarium wilt disease in shallot plants. The best dose of calcite lime treatment of 2 ton.ha-1 with a pH value of 6.4 slowed down the disease incubation period, reduced disease incidence and disease intensity, and increased shallot plant growth.
