Uji Konsentrasi Ekstrak Daun Sirih Hutan (Piper Aduncum L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Larva Plutella Xylostella L. Sawi Hijau (Brassica Rapa Var. Parachinensis L.) Di Laboratorium
ABSTRACT
Mustard green (Brassica rapa var. parachinensis L.) is one of the horticultural crops that have high economic value. One of the problems in green mustard cultivation is pest attack from Plutella xylostella larvae that can make high damage on the leaf up to 100%. Pesticides from forest betel leaf (Piper aduncum L.) can be a safe alternative for controlling P. xylostella. The research was conducted at Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from December 2022 to February 2023. This study aimed to obtain an effective concentration on the mortality of P. xylostella. This research was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. 10 larvae instar two of P. xylostella were infested for each treatment by using spraying method. The concentration of forest betel leaf extract use was 0 g.l-1 water, 25 g.l-1 water, 50 g.l-1 water, 75 g.l-1 water, and 100 g.l-1 water. Forest betel leaf extract with concentration of 75 g.l-1 water was effective in controlling P. xylostella larvae in the laboratory that cause total mortality of 80% with an initial death time of 2,5 hours after application and the lethal time 50 at 13,5 hours after application.
