Uji Waktu Aplikasi Cendawan Metarhizium Anisopliae (Metsch.) Pada Kompos Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit Terhadap Mortalitas Larva Kumbang Tanduk (Oryctes Rhinoceros L.)
ABSTRACT
Oryctes rhinoceros L. is the main pest of Elaeis guineensis Jacq. Biological control using Metarhizium anisopliae fungus which has been widely studied to control O. rhinoceros. The use of M. anisopliae is preferable to palm oil empty fruit bunch which composted. This research aims to determine the application period of the M. anisopliae which can be categorized as a biopesticide in palm oil empty fruit bunch compost on the mortality of O. rhinoceros larvae. This research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from Juny to October 2022. This study used an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The M. anisopliae concentration on compost consisted of 75 g.l-1. The treatments time for the application of M. anisopliae : 8 days before the O. rhinoceros larvae infestation, 4 days before the O. rhinoceros larvae infestation, simultaneously with O. rhinoceros larvae infestation, 4 days after the O. rhinoceros larvae infestation and 8 days after the O. rhinoceros larvae infestation. The results show that the application period of the M. anisopliae in compost which can be categorized as a biopesticide was application of M. anisopliae together with O. rhinoceros larvae infestation which caused early larvae death at 66 hours after application, lethal time 50% at 192 hours after application and causing mortality larvae at 72,50%.
