Pengaruh Cod Dan Vapour Inlet Terhadap Efisiensi Stripping Di Evaporator Plant #4
ABSTRACT
Black liquor or WBL is obtained from washing pulp generally has a solid
content of 15-16%. This WBL must be concentrated until it reaches 80-82% or it
can be called Firing Liquor. The unit used to concentrate WBL is called
evaporation plant unit. The results of the process in the evaporator unit are firing
liquor and condensate. One of the condensates, namely condensate C (foul
condensate) from the evaporator unit exalts sulfur gas and methanol organic
compounds, which increases emission values and increases COD (Chemical
Oxygen Demand). Because the condensate treatment process in the evaporation
unit produces stripper off-gas (SOG). Apart from producing SOG, the stripping
system also converts condensate C to condensate A/B. Stripper off-gas (SOG) will
be sent to the Methanol Plant unit to obtain Methanol gas by condensation
process. Calculation of stripper efficiency is very useful to find out how well the
stripper works in reducing the value of COD and condensate conductivity. For
that, variable data that affect the production process of the stripper is needed.
Data is taken from the stripper unit starting from January 1st December 2022 -
30th December 2022. The data variables needed include the conductivity of the
condensate inlet-outlet, the COD of the condensate inlet-outlet, reflux inlet flow to
stripper, condensate C inlet flow to stripper, upper and lower pressure on the
stripper, condensate inlet temperature, vapour pressure from effect 1C to stripper
column. During that period, the stripper managed to achieve an efficiency of
above 90% and the highest efficiency was achieved on October 4th where the
stripper managed to achieve an efficiency of 98,8%. This indicates that the
performance of the stripper of evaporator #4 has been optimal. Within this 98,8%
efficiency, the amount of vapour needed is 10,0884 kg/s to produce SOG
efficiently. The stripping’s efficiency depends on the condensate C flow and
temperature of the reduced COD in condensate, vapour inlet flow and pressure in
stripper coloumn.
