The background of this research is the early reading learning process in
grade 1 of SD Negeri 128 Pekanbaru. Elementary school teachers must be able to
master learning techniques that are dominant in elementary school children which are
fun. Many elementary school students in grade 1 at this time do not know the letters
of the alphabet and read words per syllable, therefore the teacher as the main role or
an important role in the achievement of students in the beginning reading process, the
teacher when carrying out the process of learning to read the beginning to students
must be really precise. in teaching it and adjusting to the method whether the educator
uses one that is suitable for students. The first formulation of the problem of this
research is, how is the process of learning to read the beginning. The second is, what
are the inhibiting factors in carrying out the process of learning to read the beginning
